Connecting with your Coach

This article explains how to connect with your coach in Final Surge so that your coach can see your training log, place workouts on your training calendar, make you part of a team in Final Surge, and more!

Step 1 - Check to see if you are already linked to your coach.

Go to your "Settings" page and look at the "Coaches" section. If you see your coach's name listed with an "Accepted" label, you are already linked with your coach and you can disregard the rest of this article!

Step 2 - Your coach needs to send you a Coaching Invitation. 

Ask your coach to send you a coaching invitation to the email account that you have associated with your Final Surge account. If you don't yet have a Final Surge account, tell your coach to send the invitation to the email that you plan to use for your Final Surge account. 

Step 3 - Open and Accept the Coaching Invitation.

You should receive an email notifying you of your new coaching invitation. If you did not receive an email, see the section below titled "Problem: I Didn't Receive An Email". If you did receive the email, click the link in the email - this will take you to a screen where you can log in to Final Surge. If you have not yet created your Final Surge account, do so now with the same email that the coaching invitation was sent to. Once you have logged in to Final Surge, you should see this screen:

Click the link in the blue bar and follow the steps to accept the invitation. Once this is done, you are connected to your coach!

If you want to double check that you are linked to your coach, refresh your page and go through Step 1 again to see your new coach in the "Your Coaches" section. 

Problem: I Didn't Receive An Email

It is possible that the email was accidentally placed in a spam folder or put in a different folder by a custom filter. If you believe that this occurred, log in to your Final Surge account, either on the website or the app. If the invitation was sent to the correct email address, you should see a notification in your account. Click that notification and to open the notification. If you do not have a notification in your account, see the section below titled "Problem: I Didn't Receive A Notification".

Once the invitation is open, follow the instructions to accept the invitation.

If you are on the website, click the "Click Here" link in the blue bar notification and then click "Accept Request" to accept the request. Here is a screenshot of this step in the website:

If you are on the app, tap the notification. Once the notification opens, tap "Accept" on the top-right of the next screen. Here is a screenshot of an open invitation in the app:

Problem: I Didn't Receive A Notification

If you did not receive an invitation, the most likely scenario is that the invitation was not sent to the email that is associated with your Final Surge account. Double check with your coach to make sure that the invitation was sent to the right email account. If you have double-checked with your coach and still do not see the invitation, contact Final Surge customer support.
